Many questions arise as what is a spanner wrench. Well, the answer is simple. In the earlier decades, the term spanner wrench was very common but as time passed by, the usage of the two words together became redundant. The Britons call the tool a spanner while the Americans call it the wrench. But basically this is a tool that is used to tighten or loosening and fastener such as a bolt or a nut.
These tools are made of hardened materials and in many instances coated with chrome to prevent rust and even flaking over the years.
There are many types of spanner wrenches that a person can use in their homes, garages or factories. The commonest of the wrenches is the C wrench. It has a C shape at the end which is supped to cock with the fastened that is being worked on. The presence of pins in the C shape makes the wrench have a grip of the fastener. There are also hexagonal spanner wrenches that encircle the fastener.
This tool is supposed to be used on fasteners that are not next to anything so that they can be slotted over them without any hindrance. Because many of the spanner wrenches are two ended, it is possible to have a C shape on one end and a hexagonal one on the other.

First of all, a person using this tool needs to know that they are of different sizes. These sizes have been designed to fit well on the different sized bolts and nuts. If the wrong sized wrench is made to fasten or loosen a bolt which is smaller, chances are that gripping points on the wrench will slide over the bolt and this could lead to the damage of the bolt and the wrench.
